About the Opportunity at Knauf Plasterboard

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this person will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Dandenong facility, including daily performance in the areas of safety, continuous improvement and lean distribution, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

As the most senior person on the site, you will be accountable for the daily management of warehouse employees, including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures; as well as maintaining profitability within the warehouse operations area.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supervising daily operations in an outdoor, pick and pack facility, including overseeing the loading of metal profiles up to 7 metres in length;
  • Managing the Dandenong operational budget and preparing and analysing financial reports and performance of the site against budgets;
  • Providing strong leadership to engage and empower staff, enabling them to meet and exceed KPIs and contributing to business profitability targets;
  • Implementing and maintaining health and safety requirements for the site, ensuring a safe and hazard free workplace; and
  • Executing the strategic direction for the warehouse team as directed by the Supply Chain Director.

Who is Knauf looking for?

To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in a similar position, ideally within a pick and pack environment, with a strong understanding and working knowledge of warehouse operations, including transportation and freight.

As the most senior person at the facility, you will be a strong leader with demonstrable experience in a supervisory position and the ability to manage all employee related matters on site, including training, staff engagement and performance management, as required.

This is a highly autonomous role that requires a superior communicator with the ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships with all customers, suppliers and other employees. As a motivating leader, you will also be assertive in your approach and not afraid to make tough decisions when necessary to get the best results.

Importantly, Knauf Australia is seeking a hands-on Manager who is willing to roll up their sleeves and jump into any task at hand, as required.

In addition, you will demonstrate a positive health and safety attitude and promote health and safety practices among coworkers. A forklift license is essential for this position, and any experience using SAP will be very highly regarded.
